New to THE KOSH? Start With These 12 Conversations

People ask me where to start with THE KOSH. Fair question — there are nearly 200 conversations in the archive, and "start at episode one" is nobody's idea of a good time.

So I stopped guessing and went by listening. These are the conversations at the top of that list — the ones people find, finish, and pass to a friend. If you're starting anywhere, start here.

The most-listened education conversation: Dr. Sam Coleman (Ep 109) on how schools actually improve, with Anthony Miller Jr. (Ep 97) on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion work inside a real district.

The most-listened hard conversations: Angie Lee (Ep 59) on what Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is and isn't; Alondra & Salma Sanchez of Cultura Counseling (Ep 123) on culturally grounded mental-health care; and Aaron Sherer (Ep 68) — an honest conversation titled "White People Talking About Race, Racism, and Racial Equity."

The most-listened wellbeing conversations: LaKeisha Haase (Ep 49) on juvenile mental health, and Barb Nelson (Ep 86) on Williams Syndrome awareness and advocacy.

The most-listened community builders: Kevin Abernathy (Ep 127) on developing small towns across Wisconsin; restaurateur and council candidate Kris Larson (Ep 118); and Fifth Ward Brewing co-founder Ian Wenger (Ep 107).

Two more belong on the list. Our listener survey's first-named favorite: Dr. Chu May Paing (Ep 171), who leads the Winnebago Area Literacy Council — literacy as liberation. And the newest conversation everyone's talking about: sheriff candidate Darin Rice (Ep 191) on accountability and community-first leadership.

All twelve are in a one-page guide — Best of THE KOSH: The Most-Listened Episodes — with a short note on each and a direct listening link. It's the easiest way to find your next episode, or to hand the show to a friend.
